He tini ngā kaupapa e mahi ana tātou. E whai ake he tirohanga noa. There are many different kaupapa happening in, around, about and for our marae. Here is just a little snippet into some of this mahi.
Marae Redevelopment Project
The marae redevelopment project is the biggest kaupapa that we are working on right now. There are lots of different parts to this and it's something that requires many hui, ground work, time and effort before we begin to see physical changes. We will try to keep you as up to date as we progress through this.
Water Treatment System
Under the Rural Drinking Water Programme, an intiative for the treatment for safer drinking water, we have recently had a filtration system installed. Led by Te Hiku and working with Filtec this programme includes maintenance and training to continue to help manage the treatment system ensuring continued access to clean water at our marae.
Me He Wai
Restoring our awa is an important mahi and we are one of the many marae who commited to the Me He Wai project.
Me He Wai has two objectives:
1. Support tangata whenua to build their capacity and capability in and make decisions for freshwater management.
2. Improve the health of freshwater bodies of importance to tangata whenua and create nature-based employment opportunities.
